I have only been around the Internet for a little while but it didn’t take me long to figure out how the Digital Product game, in regards to pricing, is played.  Let’s take it step by step.

1. Someone comes out with some original product, in a digital form, it can be anything from their ideas about how to design a web page to the best way to cook spare ribs.  They get their idea into an e-book format and they are now off to the races.
   
 

2. They get a web site up.  Actually all it is, is one long scrolling sales page.  I’m sure you have seen them, they go for ever about how this idea is the greatest thing since sliced bread and if you don’t become one of the next 17 people to buy it at  $97.00, the price will go up at midnight that night to who knows what price, maybe $147.00 maybe $197.00.
 

3. They flog this e-book until it’s all over the Internet, everybody has a copy of it and the price is now down to $17.00.  It then it drops to $7.00 and then it eventually ends up FREE, because most people have it.
 

4. What happens next is interesting.  They now have a new e-book out, sometimes on the same subject, with a little bit of a twist on the first idea, and then the process starts all over again.
 

5. Some of these e-books are simply garbage, but some of them are actually pretty good, and there are some that are really good.  What they all have in common is that, regardless of the length or quality, there are always some good points, information and ideas to be gathered from them.  Someone will have an e-book about how to build back links to your web site.  It will be 27 pages long and in those 27 pages there will be valuable information on how to build back links to your web page.  I'm not sure it was worth $197.00 when it first came out but it sure is worth the price our members will pay to read it now.  More about that later.
 

6. Something else to be aware of is the actual cost of putting these so-called Digital Products onto the Internet.  Pennies, and that may be too high of an estimate.  When you take away the hype and marketing, the actual cost of an e-book is about 25 cents.  A far cry from the original price of $197.00!
 

What role does Sitebizz play in all of this? What we have done is all of the legwork for you. Let’s clear that one up right away.  The question should not be, "why is Sitebizz’s Membership so cheap?" the question should be, why is everyone else charging so much?  I am amazed at what other sites are charging for significantly less inventory compared to what Sitebizz is charging.

Other sites are charging $15.00 to $30.00 dollars EVERY MONTH, month after month, year after year.  That means that over the course of just one year you would be paying any where from  $180.00 to over $400.00 dollars to be a member on a site that has far less to offer then Sitebizz.  Some sites are charging over $100.00 a month; some are charging over $200.00 a month.  That works out to over $ 2,500.00, for just the first year.

That is their business and everyone is entitled to charge as they see fit, but it gets me angry when people refer to my price and ask why it’s “so cheap“, when the reality is the opposite.

When I started to market on the Internet, one thing that struck me was the price people were charging for the kind of materials we have on Sitebizz, digital products.  In the bricks and mortar world, there are fixed costs that you do not have when you have a website and are selling digital products.

When I was selling my own products, on the outside, the cost to send one of my Power Systems was close to $100.00 when you factored all of the printing costs, the binder, the packaging, the postage, the duties and the labor to put everything together.  It all made it an expensive proposition.

When I started my Internet division, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.  I could ship the same package, anywhere in the world for pennies.  It became clear to me that it was time that you, the customer, got a real deal.

My real costs to run my Internet business are substantially lower than my costs to run my Internet business; I believe that these savings should be passed on to you, my Members.  This section is the hardest section to deal with because I have been dealing with this issue ever since I bought this site, several months ago. I have made a great many changes to the site and have added literally millions of new products, images, resources, products to improve the site. Sitebizz is the largest digital product resource and product site on the Internet by a large margin.

The question that I have been dealing with is the price for the one time Life Long Membership to the site. The experts who I have been dealing with have said that a site like this one, because it is the largest and has the biggest and best selection should also have the highest price to join. That would make sense except for one fact.

 What everyone else is charging for significantly less is just plain crazy. Other sites are charging hundreds of dollars a year and they keep on charging this, year after year. I have already explained my views on this so I will not repeat them here again.

My price of  $ 9.97 for a one time, Lifelong membership is fair to me and fair to my Members, it’s up to you to decide if that makes sense to you or not. The problem I am having is that the experts say that people will be skeptical of the low price, low by Internet standards and not join the site. Are people really that stupid? I do not think so.

The experts also say that people will equate low price with low quality. Once again, are people that stupid? I don’t think so. Everybody has an opportunity to look on this site and see the volume and the range of products and resources we have here. After that, they can make up their own minds.

I took into consideration all points of view. I listened to the experts, talked to people on the Internet, looked at what other sites were charging and guess what, I don’t think you are stupid and I think you will know a deal when you see one. Does this make sense to you?
