I am proud to say that I own both the DVDs and the video games of the same name; I can’t help my love for the “Ghostbusters” franchise. The films are able to mix comedy, action, and science fiction so well and I don’t believe there’s another series that does it just as well. While I do like the movies especially, what I recall is that what the Ghostbusters are doing may be considered illegal in the state of New York. While I’ll always be a fan, the Ghostbusters could have very well been taken to court by NY collection agencies with various degrees of success.

To tell the truth, the Ghostbusters being confronted by the law isn’t exactly an uncommon circumstance, whether by NY collection agencies or not. A company such as Rapid Recovery Solutions would fit well into the former. Water Peck is one of the opposing forces of the Ghostbusters, being a lawyer to the Environmental Protection Agency. He claims that the team is in possessed of a nuclear device that is not licensed and has the whole ghost containment grid shut down. Peck caused the very thing he was against, releasing several phantoms. For further info about collection agencies, check this site.

The Ghostbusters were also taken to court in the second movie once they were discovered to have been uncovering a strange slime in New York sewers. You might be wondering, why are these guys narrowly avoiding disciplinary action if they caught with their hands in the cookie jar so often? Well, the answer is simple: they are the Ghostbusters. A pistol won’t be able to do much when facing off against ghosts but if a Proton Pack is tossed into the fray, then the tide is turned in the favor of the good guys. There is no one else who can fight off the ghosts.

The Ghostbusters would be a dream when it comes to debt collectors when you consider how much money it would take to keep the business alive. Proton Packs and Ghost Traps cannot come cheap but these don’t even include the more mainstream necessities like the car, named the Ecto-1, or the electricity used to keep the Ghostbusters’ base of operations running like a well-oiled machine. The workers are paid based off of commission, basically, since people hire them. A debt collector would have plenty of demands, though I’m sure any honest collector would have reasonable ones.

The Ghostbusters might be a strong group that has the backing of New Yorkers but there’s no question that their line of work is risky. Whether by lawyers or debt collectors, the Ghostbusters face plenty of scrutiny, only making their job that much more daunting. When a company’s job revolves around the capturing of ghosts, then daunting turns into near impossibility. Nonetheless, the group never seems to be down for long and they will return to rev up their Proton Packs once more.
