Eventually there is a time in every teenager’s life when it comes time to enter the workforce and get their first job. For me, that came right at age 14. As a competitive swimmer, it only made sense that I should use that skill to my advantage. I was able to catch a break at a local swim school teaching lessons to children of all ages. All throughout high school and college this was most of the jobs that I held. Every school year, every summer-I spent my life in and around a pool. This is what led me to open my own swim school. Running my business though came with its own challenges, I needed to find a commercial debt collector to work with.

These days it seems like the only way to be successful is by advertising on the Internet-more specifically social media. Someone checks in on Foursquare or Facebook, and suddenly the business automatically gets advertising. As people check-in, you can see on these sites where your friends have been, which helps any small business get more clients.

While growing up I complained at times about teaching lessons, at the end of the day I truly enjoyed it. Yes of course there are trouble parents, students, fellow employees, but I got such a great satisfaction out of it. I knew that no matter what I was truly giving my students a life skill. That is one of the many reasons I wanted to open up my own swim instruction business. Unfortunately, like with any small business there are always going to be clients that don’t pay. I remember from when I worked my first job, my boss was always struggling with this factor. I learned from this experience and hired a commercial debt collector.

By working with a commercial debt collector I can ensure the financial security of my business. Starting my own swim lesson facility was no small task. In this economy it has become increasingly difficult to start your own business, but the net of it is people always need to know how to swim.

Swimming is a survival skill. Out of all the jobs I’ve held, I’ve gotten no greater pleasure than when I’m in the pool teaching a young child how to swim. They learn skills that are not only important in the pool, but also in life.
