If you’ve dreamed of becoming a successful eBook writer, it’s easier than you may think. Lots of ordinary people have done it. You can do it too. Here are some ideas to help you get started with writing your own eBooks and earning the big bucks.

1. Research the target market.

You may be able to write a bestseller on basketweaving, but unless you take the time to research the target audience for your book, you may call short on that goal. Before you put pen to paper, be sure to take the time to examine who the projected readers for your book will be. Once you’ve taken that step, then you’ll have a better idea on how to proceed with writing the book.

Step 2 – Write and Package Your eBook

Now comes the hard part – writing the eBook. Actually, this can be accomplished by writing it yourself, getting another writer to do the work for you or gathering information from various PLR sites and putting it together into one nice package.

You will want to save it as an Adobe Reader (.PDF) file for ease in sending it to readers. The PDF format is more widely accepted.

Step 3 – Setting up the website.

This is the most important step in the eBook writing process. You will need to establish an Internet presence in order to market and sell your eBook.

Your visitors should feel like they just can’t help buy take out their credit card and buy right now. Your page should catch their attention from the beginning of the page and get them all the way to the bottom until they buy.

4. The Payment System.

If you are going to selling the eBook on your site, then you will need to set up an easy to use payment system. You have various options but PayPal is a good choice.

One way you may want to do this is by registering for a merchant account through PayPal that will provide you with many tools including a direct payment link that can be placed on your site. It’s important to note, however, that PayPal often sends marketing emails out to the people who are buying from you, so you will want to set this account up to do this as little as possible or go with an alternate payment account. There are many to choose from online for this purpose.

Step 5 – Generate Traffic

The only way people will find your site is by generating enough web traffic to it. This can be done through a variety of free and low cost methods. You may want to try adding your website link to all of your emails, your community forum posts, blog posts and other websites if you have them.

Another method that’s growing in popularity is using social networking sites to get people to visit your sites and learn more about your products. Be sure to ask others with related products if you can share links on websites to generate even more web traffic. You can even pay for traffic with Pay Per Click programs if it is reasonable to do so.

Selling an eBook online is a great way to earn a small part time income, but keep in mind that it takes time to build this type of business up. Be patient, use all the tools that are available to you and over time you will see this business grow.
